further education

"Mom," he said, "what is the point of going to school to learn some more?"

"You've got to learn more," she replied, "to protect yourself from what you already know."

If that line could knock some sense into some of the kids I had at the tuition center, I would try.

If any, it would confuse them. That's still worth it.

out and back again

Sawasdeekap!
The Thai Ronald MacDonalds!

Sorry the updates have been slow, but it has been quite an heck of a week. Been to Bangkok (my 3rd time frankly) and back with my family over the 23rd June weekend. Like most visitors from around the world, they will agree that Bangkok is about cheap food and good shopping. As this is a clean and conservative blog *cough*, we shall look away from the vices of the city.

Chapter 1: Food

Dunkin' Donuts!!
Dunkin' Donuts!

More Food!
More yummies!

Chapter 2: Shopping

Shopping!
Went with 3 luggages, and back with 6.
Trust me, I had LITTLE to do with that.

Chapter 3: Family

Family!
And it all boils down to time spent with family. =)

~~~~~
Went for a Sec 1 camp with Orchid Park Secondary School from 28th to 30th June with the likes of Ben and ZC under Protege Company. Acted as facilitator/ instructor for the kids. Spare cash aside, this was really something I enjoy doing, and seemed to have been doing for a great part of my life.
Camping, outdoors, instructing, organising, touching lives. Such a lovely combination!
It is always from such situations that you learnt, and find out how the little things bring you such satisfaction and carefreeness.
It is a pity I'll probably not see my group of 16 again, but I've relived my life in the way I've always enjoyed living before. That's enough for me.
~~~~~

I've recommissioned my arrows, and shot with my wooden bow last Saturday. Training with the people I've trained with since year 1 makes me feel as if I've never left the sport. Maybe never really truly left.

Out and back again.

I'm grossly unprepared. Equipment in less than tip-top conditions. The feeling of holding the bow is just starting to come back, but very much less than ideal. It'll be a fun last shoot for me no doubt. Oh well, didn't they all say that it's the process that matters?
